Turn a familiar Minecraft world into a primitive survival adventure with Mc Ark Primitive V1.3. Tame and manage creatures, raise hatchlings, unlock Engrams, craft ARK-inspired equipment, form a tribe, and protect your base with turrets, secure doors, and a totem. This guide covers the two required packs, the features verified in the addon files, and practical setup and troubleshooting steps.
Mc Ark Primitive is a Bedrock Edition addon made of a Behavior Pack (BP) and a Resource Pack (RP). The Behavior Pack supplies entities, items, recipes, scripts, creature leveling and taming systems, tribes, and interactive defenses. The Resource Pack supplies models, textures, animations, sounds, and English/localized text.
- New creatures and spawn eggs, including rideable dinosaurs and flying or gliding creatures.
- ARK-style taming, creature stats, leveling, mutations, breeding, and egg incubation.
- Player levels, XP, Engrams, blueprints, and a player-stat upgrade menu.
- Tribes, tribe chat and logs, member ranks, invitations, and shared creature access.
- Cryopods, saddles, armor, weapons, primitive resources, and building pieces.
- Automated turrets, a defensive totem, bear traps, and configurable secure doors.
- Server options for difficulty, XP, taming and incubation speeds, levels, hostile vanilla mobs, and third-person riding view.
Feature availability can differ by creature and game version. Always test the addon in a copy of your world before using it in a long-term survival save.

Only the creatures identified as tameable in the addon configuration should be assumed to use its ARK taming and leveling features. A visible creature or spawn egg does not by itself mean that the creature can be tamed.
- Find the Implant. Each player receives one Mc Ark Implant when first spawning into a world with the Behavior Pack active. Use it to open the main ARK menu for player levels, Engrams, and related options.
- Find or spawn a creature. Explore normally or use a creature spawn egg. In a world where commands and cheats are enabled, an operator can grant an egg with
/give @s mc_ark:raptor_spawn_egg 1; replace the item ID with the desired spawn egg.
- Check the creature's taming style. Supported species use manual or passive taming. Manual taming requires the configured taming interaction; passive taming requires feeding the creature an accepted food. The exact style varies by species.
- Choose suitable food. The configured herbivore foods include carrots, potatoes, wheat, apples, berries, kelp, beetroot, Longrass, and Citronal. Configured carnivore foods include mutton, raw or cooked Prime Meat, beef, and cod. Ichthyosaurus can also accept fish such as salmon, tropical fish, and pufferfish. Better foods generally provide better taming progress or effectiveness.
- Use the creature menu. Interact with a supported creature to view its claim or management menu. Depending on ownership and tribe permissions, options include rename, movement order, aggression mode, stats, upgrades, and releasing or neutering the creature.
- Ride or fly where supported. Use the appropriate saddle where the creature requires one, then interact with it to mount. Raptor and Sarcosuchus saddle items are included; Ichthyosaurus has a saddle asset. A small number of configured flyers use gliding controls, and not every creature is a mount.
- Collect materials. Harvest ordinary Minecraft resources and addon-specific plants, rocks, and materials. Moschops can harvest a configured selection of bushes, grass, flowers, and leaves. Check each blueprint or Engram for its actual ingredients before gathering.
The script-managed breeding system supports fertilized Dodo, Raptor, Sarcosuchus, and Moschops eggs. The following are their base incubation timers at the default 1x incubation setting:
| Fertilized egg |
Base incubation time |
| Dodo |
180 seconds |
| Moschops |
240 seconds |
| Raptor |
300 seconds |
| Sarcosuchus |
450 seconds |
- Raise and tame compatible creatures, then allow the addon breeding behavior to produce a fertilized egg.
- Keep the egg in a loaded area near a player so its incubation timer can tick.
- Keep tamed Dodos within about 10 blocks of the egg. Each qualifying Dodo adds 10% incubation speed, up to 10 Dodos.
- Adjust the global incubation multiplier through the server settings item if desired. Available settings range from 1x to 20x.
- Wait for the egg to hatch. When compatible parents are found nearby, the script can pass creature stat and mutation data to the offspring. Random eggs can hatch without inherited parent data.
Mc Ark uses two crafting paths: normal crafting-table recipes and the addon blueprint system. Blueprint crafting is not a standard crafting-grid recipe: unlock its Engram, use the matching blueprint item, and pay the listed reward materials. Open the Implant's Engram menu to see level requirements and Engram costs. The table below documents the custom blueprint material costs configured in the addon; stack counts are shown after the multiplication sign.

The Behavior Pack also contains ordinary crafting-table recipes for the Implant, Cryopod, Soothing Balm, primitive materials, food processing, Mortar, Smithy, vanilla tools, and other items. Examples verified from the recipe files:
| Recipe |
Ingredients and result |
| Implant |
1 Rock in the center slot of a crafting table produces 1 Implant. New players also receive an Implant automatically on first spawn. |
| Cryopod |
3 Glass across the top row, 1 Diamond on each side of 1 Amethyst Shard in the middle row, and 3 Iron Ingots along the bottom row produces 1 Cryopod. |
| Soothing Balm |
Top row: Mejor Berry, Narcoberry, Mejor Berry. Middle row: 3 Narcoberries. Bottom row: 3 Honey Bottles. |
| Rock |
1 Cobblestone produces 4 Rocks. |
| Cooked Prime Meat |
Cook Raw Prime Meat in a furnace. |
Other blueprint costs are displayed by the addon blueprint/Engram system. Unlock the relevant Engram first; attempting to craft without learning it displays a warning. Recipe and Engram unlock requirements are separate systems, so consult the in-game menu for level and point costs.
| Equipment |
Effect |
| Full Ghillie set |
Grants Speed. When standing in or directly above supported bushes, also grants Invisibility and Speed. |
| Chitin armor |
Wearing at least two pieces weakens nearby spiders. Wearing all four pieces also slows them. |
| Gas Mask |
When worn in the head slot, removes Blindness, Darkness, Poison, Slowness, and Nausea effects. |
| Raptor Armor |
Listed as a mount armor item; the exact defensive bonus is not specified in the scripts inspected. |
The addon does not register custom slash commands. Its features are opened through items and creature interactions. The following are standard Bedrock commands useful for testing or administration in a world with cheats enabled:
| Command |
Purpose |
/give @s mc_ark:implant 1 |
Give yourself the ARK menu item if it is missing. |
/give @s mc_ark:settings_arkmenu 1 |
Give yourself the server settings item. |
/give @s mc_ark:raptor_spawn_egg 1 |
Example: give yourself a Raptor spawn egg. Substitute another listed spawn egg ID as needed. |
/give @s mc_ark:cryopod 1 |
Give yourself an empty Cryopod for testing. |
/help |
Display standard Bedrock command help. |
Commands require cheats and appropriate permissions. The settings item opens a form with difficulty, XP, taming and incubation multipliers, level toggles, third-person riding view, hostile vanilla mob spawning, and reset options. Reset options can permanently delete tribe, level, or Hunter Point data; use them with care.
- Use addon files made for the same release. Import both the Mc Ark Primitive BP and RP into Minecraft Bedrock. If your download is supplied as separate pack archives, open/import each one; if it is supplied as a combined addon, import the combined file.
- In Minecraft, create a new world or make a backup of an existing world before testing.
- Open the world's Behavior Packs settings and activate Mc Ark Primitive BP.
- Open the world's Resource Packs settings and activate the matching Mc Ark Primitive RP.
- Keep the matching BP and RP enabled together. The BP has a manifest dependency on the RP, and both manifests list version 1.8.5.
- If other packs replace the same entities, items, UI, or textures, move Mc Ark Primitive above conflicting packs in the relevant pack list. On Bedrock, the top enabled pack generally takes priority for overlapping assets. Keep the BP/RP pair in a consistent position and avoid duplicate versions.
- Enable the experimental features or creator features requested by your Minecraft version if the pack fails to load its script/API content. The Behavior Pack declares script evaluation capability and depends on
@minecraft/server and @minecraft/server-ui.
- Enter the world and verify that you receive an Implant on first spawn. Use it to open the menu, then test a spawn egg and a basic recipe.
The manifests specify a minimum engine version of 1.21.0. The project files do not contain test results for every Bedrock release, so the table distinguishes the declared minimum from versions that are not confirmed here.
| Bedrock version |
Status |
Reason |
| Before 1.21.0 |
Not supported |
Both manifests declare 1.21.0 as the minimum engine version. |
| 1.21.0 |
Minimum declared |
Meets the manifest minimum; actual behavior still depends on the installed game build and Script API availability. |
| 1.21.x |
Expected, not individually verified |
Within the stated minimum generation, but no per-patch test matrix is included. |
| 1.22 through 1.25 |
Unverified |
Newer releases may change entity, UI, or Script API behavior. The addon files do not document tests for these versions. |
| 1.26 and later |
Unverified |
The addon declares no specific 1.26+ certification. Test both packs in a backup world and check for script/API errors. |
- Addon content is missing: confirm that both the BP and RP are installed, enabled in the active world, and from the same release. Check for a missing-pack warning.
- Textures or models look wrong: move the addon RP above packs that override the same assets and remove duplicate or outdated copies.
- The Implant is missing: the automatic grant happens on first spawn. Try
/give @s mc_ark:implant 1 with cheats enabled.
- A creature will not tame: not every custom entity is configured as tameable. Verify the species, use the correct manual or passive taming method, and feed an accepted food item.
- A blueprint will not craft: unlock its Engram first, use the correct blueprint, and bring the exact required materials. Engram costs are not the same as blueprint crafting materials.
- An egg does not hatch: keep it near a player in a loaded area, check the incubation speed setting, and allow its full base timer. Nearby tamed Dodos help, but do not replace the need to keep the egg ticking.
- A Cryopod cannot capture a creature: it only stores a supported, tamed ARK creature. The owner must use the Cryopod, and other non-player entities must not block the capture area.
- A tribe member cannot ride or manage a creature: check that the player and creature owner are in the same tribe and that the creature is tamed. Some menu actions are owner- or permission-restricted.
- Scripts fail to start: check game-version compatibility, enable any required experiments, and ensure the Behavior Pack's script modules are available. The declared dependency is
@minecraft/server 1.18.0 and @minecraft/server-ui 1.3.0.
- Do I need both packs? Yes. The BP contains gameplay; the RP supplies the matching assets and is declared as a BP dependency.
- Does every creature use ARK taming? No. Only species configured in the addon taming system should be assumed tameable through those mechanics.
- Can I ride every dinosaur? No. Rideability and saddle requirements depend on the specific entity. Raptor and Sarcosuchus saddles are included; check the creature menu and try supported mounts.
- How do I open the main menu? Use the Implant. New players are automatically given one on their first spawn with the BP active.
- How do I open server settings? Use the
mc_ark:settings_arkmenu item. There are no custom slash commands registered by the addon scripts.
- Can I use the addon in an existing world? It may work, but always make a backup first. Test in a copy before enabling it in a valuable world.
- Is version 1.26+ guaranteed? No version-specific certification is included. The declared minimum is 1.21.0; later versions should be treated as unverified until tested in-game.
