The Hollow Dimension is a Minecraft Bedrock add-on by Radium Studio that adds two soul-fire realms, new creatures, building materials, weapons, potions, and a survival challenge. Explore the Stable Dimension for resources, then risk the Unstable Dimension for a second chance when death finds you while you carry a Soul Totem.
The add-on’s main features are two connected dimensions, ruined portals, new hostile creatures, a tameable Soul Cerberus, and a challenge controlled by the immortal Rift Maker. A guidebook in the game explains the dimensions, creatures, blocks, items, recipes, and survival tips.
- Stable Dimension: A cave network for exploring, gathering ores and crystals, and taming a Soul Cerberus.
- Unstable Dimension: A wave-based survival challenge. Carry a Soul Totem in your main hand or offhand when you die to be brought before the Rift Maker instead of simply losing everything.
- World-building: Soulstone, Soul Wood, Soul Crystals, bone blocks, plants, and decorative blocks.
- Combat and brewing: Soul weapons, special potions, and several new hostile creatures.

Description |
How to deal with it |
| Soul Skeleton, melee |
A basic close-range fighter. Groups can surround players; some may carry a shield. |
Keep them in front of you and attack from the side when a shield is present. |
| Soul Skeleton, ranged |
A ranged variant of the Soul Skeleton. |
Use cover and avoid being surrounded by other enemies. |
| Lost Soul |
A flying skull that rushes toward the player and explodes on contact. |
Destroy it in midair before it gets close. Groups are especially dangerous. |
| Soul Bat |
A weak skeletal bat that can become dangerous in a swarm. |
Clear them out before the next challenge wave. |
| Soul Dragon |
A flying creature that spits acid. |
Keep your distance and attack with a bow. |
| Soul Cerberus |
A giant three-headed bone creature. It is aggressive in the Unstable Dimension and calm in the Stable Dimension. |
In the Stable Dimension, feed it Soul Shards until hearts appear to tame it. It cannot be tamed in the Unstable Dimension. |
| Hollow Soul |
A mini-boss that attacks at close and long range and can teleport beside the player. |
Keep moving; standing still makes it easier for the creature to appear next to you. |
| Rift Maker |
An immortal entity that summons waves of enemies for the Unstable Dimension challenge. |
Do not waste attacks on it. Fight the creatures it summons. |
The add-on also provides spawn eggs for its creatures. These are spawn eggs, not dragon eggs: the add-on’s guide does not describe an egg-hatching or breeding system.
- Find or build a portal: Look for a Ruined Portal in the Overworld. Complete its calcite frame and ignite it with flint and steel. If you cannot find one, build a calcite frame shaped like a Nether Portal and light it.
- Explore the Stable Dimension: Search its caves for Soulstone, Soul Crystals, ores, Soul Trees, and other resources. Use this dimension to prepare and gather materials.
- Collect Soul Shards: Mine Soul Crystal Clusters in the Stable Dimension. Soul Shards are used in several important recipes and to tame a Soul Cerberus.
- Craft a Soul Totem: Combine eight Soul Shards with one vanilla Totem of Undying. Keep the resulting Soul Totem in your main hand or offhand. Merely carrying it elsewhere in your inventory does not match the guide’s stated requirement.
- Enter the challenge: Die while holding the Soul Totem in either hand to be brought before the Rift Maker in the Unstable Dimension. Survive its summoned waves to earn a second chance.
- Tame a Soul Cerberus: Find one in the Stable Dimension and feed it Soul Shards one at a time until hearts appear. Do not try to tame one in the Unstable Dimension.
- Gather building materials: Harvest Soul Trees for Soul Wood and explore Soulstone areas for stone variants, ores, plants, and Soul Crystals. Mine crystal clusters to collect Soul Shards.
- Return to the Overworld: Follow the guidebook’s directions back to the main portal cavern, find a ruined portal, or build a calcite portal back to the Overworld.
The add-on’s guide does not describe hatching, breeding, riding, or flying a creature. The Soul Dragon flies as a mob, but the guide does not say that players can ride it.
The following table lists the exact recipes for the main functional items described in the add-on. In the shaped patterns, each character represents one ingredient and a space is empty. The add-on also contains recipes for decorative block families; see the family list below.

Decorative and building recipes: The pack includes recipes across Soulstone and Soul Wood families, including variants such as polished, cracked, cobblestone, brick, and chiseled blocks, along with slabs, stairs, walls, fences, pillars, doors, trapdoors, and related decorations. It also includes bone decorations, Soul Crystal blocks, Soulstone-related plants, and other crafted blocks. Many of these recipes have separate variants, so check the in-game recipe book or the guidebook after unlocking the relevant materials.
Brewing variants: The pack includes regular, splash, and lingering Potent and Prolonged potion recipes, including recipes for different potion effects. Potent strengthens potion effects; Prolonged extends their duration.
Recipe note: The in-game guidebook’s Soul Sword and Soul Crystal Block ingredient counts do not match the Behavior Pack recipe files. The recipes above follow the actual recipe files: the Soul Sword uses Netherite Scrap, and the Soul Crystal Block uses four Soul Shards.
| Item |
Effect or use |
| Soul Totem |
When held in the main hand or offhand at death, sends the player to the Unstable Dimension challenge instead of simply losing everything. |
| Soul Sword |
Deals increased damage to undead enemies, sets them ablaze with Soul Fire, and can fire a blue fireball when used with the described right-click action. |
| Soul Scythe |
Deals increased damage to undead enemies and has a sweeping attack when used with the described right-click action. |
| Potent Potion |
Provides a stronger potion effect, similar to the effect of Glowstone Dust. |
| Prolonged Potion |
Extends a potion’s duration, similar to the effect of Redstone Dust. |
Controls such as right-click depend on the device and control scheme. Use the corresponding item-use action on your platform.
The add-on does not document any custom commands. The following are vanilla Minecraft commands that may help when cheats are enabled:
/give @s ra_pd:soul_shard 1 — gives the nearest player one Soul Shard.
/give @s ra_pd:soul_sword 1 — gives the nearest player one Soul Sword.
/give @s ra_pd:soul_totem 1 — gives the nearest player one Soul Totem.
/tp @s X Y Z — teleports the player to the specified coordinates.
/gamemode creative — switches to Creative mode when permitted by the world’s settings.
Commands require cheats or the relevant permissions. The add-on’s guidebook does not provide custom summon or dimension-travel commands.
- Import both add-on packs into Minecraft Bedrock by opening their
.mcpack files with Minecraft.
- Open the target world’s settings and enable The Hollow Dimension Behavior Pack under Behavior Packs.
- Enable the matching The Hollow Dimension Resource Pack under Resource Packs.
- Confirm that both packs are version 1.0.8 and that Minecraft recognizes their dependency. The Resource Pack depends on the matching Behavior Pack.
- If either pack reports a conflict, move the matching Hollow Dimension pack above conflicting packs of the same type in that pack list. Keep the Behavior Pack and Resource Pack enabled together.
- Enter the world and look for a Ruined Portal, or build a calcite portal and light it with flint and steel.
Do not enable only one pack: the Behavior Pack provides the gameplay logic, while the Resource Pack supplies its matching assets.
The manifests specify Minecraft 1.26.10 as the minimum engine version, and the Behavior Pack declares dependencies on
@minecraft/server 2.8.0 and
@minecraft/server-ui 2.0.0. The manifest does not establish compatibility with earlier game versions or guarantee support for future versions.

Unconfirmed |
No future-version guarantee is stated in the pack metadata. |
- The portal does not activate: Check that the calcite frame is complete, then use flint and steel on it. You can also try a naturally generated Ruined Portal.
- The dimension or custom content is missing: Confirm that both the matching Behavior Pack and Resource Pack are enabled in the world.
- The pack reports an incompatibility: Check that the game is at least version 1.26.10 and that both packs are version 1.0.8.
- The Soul Totem does not trigger the challenge: Place it in your main hand or offhand before death; the guide does not say that carrying it in another inventory slot is sufficient.
- The Soul Cerberus attacks instead of being tamed: Only attempt taming in the Stable Dimension. Feed it Soul Shards until hearts appear.
- The Rift Maker takes no damage: This is intentional. It cannot be killed; focus on the enemies it summons.
- A Hollow Soul catches you by surprise: Keep moving because it can teleport beside you.
- Commands do not work: Check that cheats are enabled and that you have permission to use commands.
- Can I hatch a dragon egg? The add-on guide describes a flying Soul Dragon and spawn eggs, but does not describe an egg-hatching feature.
- Can I ride or fly on the Soul Dragon? The guide describes the dragon as a flying enemy; it does not document player riding or flight.
- Can I tame every creature? The guide only describes taming the Soul Cerberus, and only in the Stable Dimension.
- How do I reach the Unstable Dimension? Die while holding a Soul Totem in your main hand or offhand.
- Can I kill the Rift Maker? No. It is described as immortal. Survive its summoned waves instead.
- Where do I get Soul Shards? Mine Soul Crystal Clusters in the Stable Dimension.
- How do I get back to the Overworld? Return to the main portal cavern, locate a ruined portal, or build a calcite portal back.
- Does the add-on add commands? No custom commands are documented; the examples above are vanilla commands.
